Why should we sleep?

Sleep is necessary for every person to stay healthy and well being. To have a creative mind and mental sharpness, sleep is essential for all. Sleep at least 7- 8 hours daily in a calm and comfortable room. According to previous studies, lack of sleep results in numerous health problems. How sleep affects the health?
1. Immune system:
Our immune system is made of with different types of cells and proteins and protects the body from flu, cold and other infections. Lack of sleep causes the immune system to suppress and leads to the frequent illness.
2. Memory:
To work properly, nervous system needs adequate sleep. While sleeping, neurons would be produced and repair themselves. If not sleeping sufficiently, neurons may become short in energy, gets polluted and begins to malfunction. Then the memory gets impaired leads to lack of concentration, decreased ability to solve math problems, tough in taking decisions.
3. Stress:
Sleep deprivation causes moodiness and depression. It makes the person to make mistakes frequently and negative thinking. As the mental performance is diminished, It would cause the person to get stress.
4. Weight gain:
A protein called "leptin" used to control the appetite. Too little sleep lowers the level of leptin and makes the person to feel hungry and to eat more and results in easy weight gain.
5. Hyper tension:
Elevated blood pressure would be the result of poor sleep. If not sleeping adequately, there would be variations in the blood force and thus causing the hypertension.
6. Diabetes:
Many studies proved that the insufficient sleep leads to have the increased risk of type 2 diabetes. If a person won't sleep properly, it leads to high in blood sugar, as the cells fails to utilize the hormones effectively and resulting in diabetes
7. Skin:
Sleep plays a vital role in the health of the skin. During sleep, the skin gets nourished itself and detoxifies the free radicals. Also a good sleep would help the skin to fight against acne.
 Constipation, Infertility, Headaches, nose bleeds, Panic attacks are the some other health problems rises from inadequate sleep.

How to sleep well?
* Put a good schedule to sleep and follow it regularly
* Relax yourself before bed by taking warm bath or listen to soft music
* Avoid alcohol and quit smoking
* Do exercise for 30 - 45 minutes daily
* Sleep in a quiet, comfort place at normal temperature. 

Simple home remedies for lack of sleep:
* Drink a cup of milk mixed with honey
* Intake vitamin B rich foods like nuts and pulses.
* Eat curd and banana daily.
Sleep well to fight against all the above discussed health problems.

Health facts

Ginger:
Ginger is a good remedy for clod and cough. It is a blood purifier and it helps to keep the stomach pain at bay. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and it will give relief from menstrual cramps.
Nuts:
Eat nuts as snacks. Walnuts, almonds and peanuts are very good for health. It has anti-oxidants and improves lipids. Also it reduces the risk of heart disease. Eat at least 5 walnuts or almonds a day.
Oregano:
Oregano belongs to the family of mint and it is a good source of iron, Vitamin A. It will boost the immune system and it can be used to relive the pain in abdomen. Just chew few leaves to get rid of from cold and sinusitis. As it has both anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, it can be used to treat skin infections.
Curd:
It strengthens the immune system of the body as it contains good bacteria. It is a rich source of calcium, and so good for bones. It helps to lower the high blood pressure. Also it fights against stomach and vaginal infections.
Tomato:
It contains Vitamin A, which is used to improve the eyesight. It also contains Vitamin B, C & K, calcium, potassium, lycopene etc. It lowers the level of BP and cholesterol. It also prevents the body from killer diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
Strawberry:
It is a source of vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. It reduces the cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Also it helps in improving the brain functions and nervous system. Daily in taking will help to keep the arthritis problem at bay. As it contains anti-oxidants, it is very beneficial to battle against cancers and tumors.

Don’t forget or avoid eating the above specified foods regularly and daily. As mentioned earlier, these are good for some common problems like BP, cholesterol, diabetes, cancer etc. Eat healthy and have a strong immune body to combat the diseases.

It is very good for health and has the power to treat many health problems, so of them are:

•  Major problems like blood pressure and cholesterol can be controlled by eating garlic. It is a good blood purifier too.
•  Eat 4-5 pieces of garlic to get rid of from the flu.
•  Want to lose weight? Eat raw garlic and drink a glass of warm water mixed with 1 tablespoon of lime juice.
•  For tooth ache, apply a piece of crushed garlic to get quick relief.
•  Garlic has anti-viral and anti-septic properties, so it is good for health by preventing the body various diseases.
So don’t avoid eating the garlic when you found it in regular foods.

Healthy breakfast

Better to start your day with a bowl of cereal. It is a good source of calcium, proteins, fiber and carbohydrate. Having an oily breakfast will make you to feel lazy. So try to eat the fluid fruits such as watermelon, muskmelon in summer and apples, grapes in other days. Also eat steamed sprouts as breakfast as is quickly digestible. Some other foods such as wheat flakes, egg white, salads with cucumber and tomato can also be taken as breakfast.

Eat simple and nutritious breakfast. Don’t skip it, because it can provide up to 30% calories for the whole day.

Some foods for heart

• Eat 5 almonds or walnuts every day, as it lowers cholesterol levels and prevents the body from heart disease.

• Eat fiber rich foods and cut down red meat & egg yolks as it has high level of cholesterol.

• Include olive oil in regular diet as it contains good fats that are good for heart.

• Drink a small quantity of red wine regularly as it contains anti oxidants which is good for heart.

• Eat salads with fresh cucumber, tomato or onion, instead of sticky, fried and spicy food.




• Eat tomatoes in raw and cooked form regularly, as it purifies the blood.

• Eat an apple a day to help in prevention of blood clots as it contains anti- inflammatory properties.

• Practices eating of leafy vegetables as it contains folic acid, calcium etc to prevent the body from cancer and heart disease.
